Directions from San Fransisco
Directions to the Black Heron Inn, located at 51 Cypress Road, Point Reyes Station from San Francisco:
- Go North on Hwy 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge, to the Sir Francis Drake Blvd./San Anselmo exit.
- Go west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. all the way to Olema.
- Turn right on Route One/Shoreline Hwy. Approximately two miles north, you will cross a green metal bridge. At this point check your odometer. Cypress Road is located 1.7 miles north of Point Reyes Station off Route One/Shoreline Hwy.
- You will go through Point Reyes Station, up the hill, stay left, you will pass the Point Reyes Station Inn, Tomasini Canyon Road, Mesa Road, the Point Reyes Country Inn and Stables, and a 55 mph sign. Cypress Road is the next left.
- Turn left on Cypress Road, and go 3/10 mile to the second yellow fire hydrant. Look for the #51 signpost on the right in the blackberry bushes, and turn right through a redwood gate and onto our country lane.
- Drive all the way to the end, past the willow grove and pond, and out to the front of the property. The Black Heron Inn is a three-story redwood structure.
- Traveling time is approximately one hour from the Golden Gate Bridge, depending on traffic.
Directions From San Rafael/Richmond bridge
- Go over the San Rafael/Richmond bridge and follow the signs to Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
- Go west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. all the way to Olema.

Directions From Napa/Sonoma
- From Hwy 29, and/or Hwy 121, take Hwy 116/Lakeville Highway and proceed west all the way to “D” street in Petaluma.
- Turn left on “D” street, which will become the Point Reyes/Petaluma road once you leave Petaluma. On this road, follow the signs to Point Reyes Station (half hour’s drive).
- On the way, you will pass Novato Blvd., the Cheese Factory, Nicasio Valley Road and the reservoir. Continue until you come to a stop sign.
- Turn right at the stop sign, and cross a small cement bridge covered with graffiti, and proceed 3 miles to the next stop sign.
- At the stop sign, turn right onto Route One/Shoreline Hwy. Cypress road is approximately one mile north. You will pass the Point Reyes Station Inn, Tomasini Canyon Road, Mesa Road, the Point Reyes Country Inn and Stables, and a 55 mph sign. Cypress Road is the next left.
